At Home in the Tropics Bed & Breakfast is located at 1680 (25) Dronningens Gade,
Kings Quarter, Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Located on Government Hill, the Inn overlooks
the entire harbor of Charlottes Amalie.
It was built in c. 1803 and was originally the barracks for the personal guard
of Danish Governor vonScholten, whose residence, Crown House, is directly above
us. (He was the one who freed the slaves here.)
Rooms one and two $230.00 per night in season, single or double occupancy, two night minimum stay.
These two rooms have king size
beds, share the upper deck and are closest to the gallery.
Room three: $200.00 per night in season, single or double occupancy, two night minimum stay.
This room is towards the pool between
rooms two and four, and has two double beds.
Room four: $215.00 per night in season, single or double occupancy, two night minimum stay.
This room is at the end of the house
facing the pool and has a king size bed.

Shared Guest Areas include:
Living room, dining room and covered gallery at front of house. This area
has an honor bar.
Swimming pool, sun deck with chaise lounges, covered sun deck with chaise
lounges, and upper deck with umbrella tables at back of house. |
Guests have their own key to the locked gate for this courtyard property. The
gate opens onto Government House Steps - connecting Blackbeard's Hill above us
with, going down, Government House and its garden, the historic Frederick
Lutheran Church, and our oldest structure, Fort Christian, at the port. These
stairs are an easy way to access the central historic district with its shopping
and dining and ferry boats to St. John, St. Croix and Tortola.
Because the property is small and the pool is deep, children under 12 are
discouraged.
Teens and above are welcome.
This is a non-smoking facility. However, smoking is allowed in the umbrella
table area overlooking the pool.
Pam serves breakfast every morning in the living room - dining room - gallery
