The Ferry

Updated: Jan 8, 2022

Whether you are interested in a day trip or you're staying for a while on other Caribbean islands, here is the ferry info. As with all things on an island, schedules are subject to change so make sure to confirm with the operator.

St John

Red Hook has both a passenger ferry and a car ferry which make multiple trips daily. Follow these links for the most up to date schedules on the passenger ferry and the car ferry between St Thomas and St John.

Town (Charlotte Amalie) also has a passenger ferry. Note that it departs from the Blyden Ferry Terminal, schedule is limited, but this can be a great option for guests headed to St John mid-morning.

There is also a St John passenger ferry which departs from Crown Bay Marina, the schedule is limited to 2-3 trips daily.

From Crown Bay Marina, you can pick up the quick 7 minute ferry ride over to Water Island. The ferry operates 7 days a week, be sure to make a reservation if you plan to take the late ferry back! Note, this is a passenger ferry only.

There are two companies operating a ferry from downtown Charlotte Amalie to Christiansted once daily. You can view both schedules here. The journey is just about 2 hours. St Croix is not a suggested day trip via ferry.

Tortola & other British Virgin Islands

The schedule for Ferries to the BVI are currently limited, departing from the Blyden Terminal in town. Before planning international travel make sure you review the Covid testing requirements for all departures and arrivals.

If you need assistance planning your trip or figuring out which ferry to take just ask and we'll help you navigate the trip!
