For those who don't know, St Thomas Carnival is almost a month long celebration where culture, food, music and beauty is showcased in an extravagant display. It is also a time to party and let loose! Events are held throughout the month of April with the final 10 days being the big party celebration when "The Village" opens. The Village is part Mardi-Gras, part festival part concert venue and part inexplicable. Events run from April 6 through May 4, with The Village opening Friday April 26, 2019.
There are parades. Costumes, Moko Jumbie dancers, fetes, feathers.
And music. Calypso, Steel Pan, Quelbe, and Soca. Lots of Soca!
Local foods. Goat Water, Tamarind Stew, Fried Fish, and so much more.
