At Home in the Tropics first opened for guests in 2006. We have been reminiscing over all of the changes over the last couple of years. In case you haven't been here in a while, here is a recap of all that is new.
Revamped Lobby - we've got everything you need from brochures to beach chairs, bug spray and an assortment of cold beverages.
Renovated Swimming Pool & New pool Deck. Our pool is looking extra sparkly these days with new lounge chairs to boot!
Completely renovated breakfast bar complete with gorgeous recycled glass dining tables, new roof and cushy chairs.
New split unit air conditioners in every room. They are energy efficient and quiet.
New furniture in our guest rooms. Supportive bed frames, wardrobes and new bedside tables - large enough for a few good books.
New sheets, bedspreads and artwork in the guest rooms.
Solar powered energy. We keep it green and the Tesla batteries also store energy to power us through the night even if the grid goes down (which it often does!).
We have installed new gutters to collect even more of the caribbean rainwater to fill our cistern.
Updated landscaping and garden with pretty night time lighting. For our breakfasts, we grow bananas, sour sop, pineapple, starfruit, passion fruit, basil, lemongrass and more! Stay tuned for more updates around the garden!
We are constantly working to make YOUR vacation experience better year after year.
If you’re considering a stay in St Thomas, don‘t pass up this hidden gem when it comes to lodging! I’ve been fortunate to stay with Jess and Mark on many occasions (after the first stay, I was sold!) and highly recommend making this the central point of your Virgin Island vacation. Your Innkeepers know the Islands inside and out, and you’d be remiss if you don’t take advantage of this central island location!
