The Evolution of Kings Quarter Hospitality
Since we purchased At Home in the Tropics in 2016, our vision has been to immerse guests in the vibrant soul of St. Thomas. Today, that small dream has grown into a full city block of curated hospitality. We are thrilled to welcome you back to explore the new corners of downtown Charlotte Amalie.
We have reopened seven guest rooms at Hotel 1829, one of the oldest hotels on St. Thomas, first opened in 1906. Lavalettes restaurant is open for dinner service, serving fine dining French-Caribbean cuisine and we are set to open breakfast and catering services in the Fall/Winter of 2026.
Most recently, we have added the Longsteps Cottages, located directly adjacent to Hotel 1829. These cottages offer 1 or 2 bedroom options, as well as a kitchenette and all of the amenities a group or family need to enjoy their stay. At Home in the Tropics Inn, is still going strong after all these years, enjoying a refresh of all the guest rooms in the Fall of 2026, and a renewed focus on the quiet solitude of St. Thomas, while offering a true villa experience, with all the benefits of a hotel like concierge and housekeeping.
These three properties are all under our Kings Quarter Hospitality banner, a brand that is trusted to provide a truly locally inspired, thoughtful and crafted stay. Whether it is for vacation or business, exciting or relaxing, pampered or independent, we have the facilities for you.
