Big changes are underway across Kings Quarter Hospitality -(At Home in the Tropics, Hotel 1829, the Longsteps Cottages and Lavalettes Restaurant) and the broader hospitality experience. Some of these updates are already complete and others are in progress now. Together, they mark a major refresh for guests, diners, event hosts, and returning visitors who know these properties well.
The goal is simple: improve the spaces people use most, restore features guests have missed, and prepare for a stronger hospitality experience heading into high season and beyond.
At Home in the Tropics Inn has completed a full guest space refresh
At Home in the Tropics has finished refurbishing all guest rooms and guest spaces. This is one of the most visible updates for returning guests, because it touches the everyday parts of a stay: where guests sleep, relax, unpack, and gather between island outings.
The refurbishment gives the property a more polished feel while keeping the relaxed character people expect from a small tropical inn. Guest rooms and shared spaces now have a renewed look and feel, supporting a more comfortable stay from arrival to checkout.
For a property like At Home in the Tropics, these details matter. A better room is not only about appearance. It affects how guests rest after a travel day, how easy mornings feel, and how welcoming the whole property feels after a long day in the sun.
Breakfast service planned at Lavalettes Restaurant in late 2026
More than two years ago, At Home in the Tropics stopped offering breakfast. That change was made in advance of a larger dining plan: breakfast service at Lavalettes Restaurant, expected to begin in November 2026.
Starting later this year, guests at all three properties will be able to head to Lavalettes at Hotel 1829 (a 5 minute walk from AHITT) for a full service, sit down breakfast. This offering will give King’s Quarter Hospitality a more complete dining offering once that next phase begins.
When Lavalettes begins offering breakfast, guests will have a dedicated restaurant setting rather than a limited inn-style breakfast service. That shift is designed to support a more consistent and elevated dining experience.
Hotel 1829 is undergoing major pool and room renovations
Hotel 1829 is also in the middle of significant work. The pool and pool area are being completely renovated, giving one of the property’s most important guest amenities a full reset.
Pool areas are central to the guest experience in the tropics. They serve as a place to cool off, relax between outings, read in the shade, and enjoy quiet time without leaving the property. A complete renovation gives Hotel 1829 the chance to update both the look and the function of this space. By October 2026, the entire pool space will be renovated and refreshed.
The property is also renovating guest rooms that were damaged by hurricanes Irma and Maria. Once that work is complete, by December 2026, Hotel 1829 will have 11 total guest rooms available. That number matters because it reflects both recovery and careful growth. Restoring damaged rooms brings more capacity back to the property while keeping the intimate scale that defines a boutique hotel stay.
The renovated rooms will help the hotel welcome more guests without losing the personal feel that smaller properties are known for.
The waterfall is being repaired and brought back into operation
