Traveling to the BVI's - 2022
Here is the latest information from the British Virgin Islands Government regarding Covid Travel protocols to their Country. Please remember that in going to the BVI, you are traveling internationally. We also found this update from the Moorings very help in understanding the requirements.
In addition to your passport, you need to get a Covid test on St Thomas before taking the Ferry. Here is a list of testing providers on St Thomas (scroll down). As of April 2022 there is no regularly scheduled free testing being done by the Department of Health on St Thomas.
You will need to purchase your Ferry tickets to Tortola or Jost Van Dyke in advance. Please book your reservation early as space does fill up. Ferry service from St Thomas to Virgin Gorda has not resumed.
What about when you're returning to St Thomas? You will now need to follow the protocol for International Travelers. U.S. citizens traveling from an international port: Tests must be taken within 5 days of travel and all travelers must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination status.
What if you're interested in just a day trip? It is S L O W L Y starting to come back. Right now the only one we are aware of is a day trip to Jost Van Dyke via Water Taxi with Dolphin Water Taxi. As more options for day trips come back, we will update this article. Stay tuned for more information!
